A Lioness's horizon is expanded through greater knowledge, involvement in community activities, and the realization that a difference can be made in the condition of the world through collective humanitarian service. The many talents of members in Lionism have led to the success of such activities as working with youth, preschool health testing, child care, health services, helping the aged, using business, professional and domestic skills for vocational instruction, as well as raising funds for the needy. The list of varied projects is endless.

The Madison-Monona Lioness Club was certified April 26, 1976 with 22 members, the first club in District 27-D1, 9th in Wisconsin. We are sponsored by the Madison Central Lions Club and Madison West Lions Club. Our liaison is from the Madison Central Club.

We meet the first Monday of each month, except July and August, at Tully's II, 6401 Monona Drive. We have a 6:30 p.m. dinner meeting and usually adjourn before 9:30 p.m. Each meeting is preceded by a Board Meeting which any club member may attend.

Lioness Clubs assist their sponsoring Lions Clubs in a vast variety of service activities and they also plan and implement projects of their own in the community.

The Lioness role in society, combined with their unique talents and capabilities, make Lioness Clubs an invaluable asset to Lionism's global effort to combat human need.

Several professional Lioness Clubs have sprung up in various parts of the world, and at least six clubs are composed of women who are deaf. Lioness Clubs enjoy awards programs offering honor and incentive to members. The desire to serve has made the Lioness Club Program one of the largest service programs in the world.
